Yesterday Hajar added one more foodie to her portfolio.
If it isn't the sweetheart of all cakes, the irresistible, captivating, delectable and deliciously cute CUPCAKES!!
Cupcakes had made a comeback recently with much more edge and glamour than it used to way back when. In those days cupcakes were just little cakes in paper cups, the most, decorated with cherries or chocolate rice or dessicated coconuts.
But now, cupcakes are so fashionable and current and a delight to the eye and palate that they have escalated in price and appearance gaving them a place at any occasion. Weddings, engagements, birthdays etc have a demand for them nowadays, it is a must have. Some cupcakes are so pretty, too pretty to eat, they are the highlight of the event.
Hajar and I are not good yet with the icing decorating. It is much, much harder than what we see in you tube. The 'classic swirl' is not so easy to swirl. It did not turn out so we had to change to pattern B where we happily flattened the not so swirls and swiped it flat. Then realizing too late, we have no food colouring, except of rose syrup concerntrated, Hajar piped bright pink flowerettes onto the iced cupcakes, making it look like a chlorophyll-less cactus plant with a cactus flower.
The first batch had gone to 2 households, one box to our best customer for sample and another to Hajar's father's house in Muar with her this morning.
It was so fun to make the cupcakes. I like.
